Me: Leap Day is also Women's Privilege Day in Ireland. That's when women can ask men to marry them. Apparently asking for a guy's hand is a privilege.

Andy: It is!

Me: Whatever. Will you marry me?

Andy: We're already married.

Me: Well, would you marry me again?

Andy: We already did it twice so, we're like married squared.

Me: ...

Andy: (long pause) I guess if we weren't already married, sure, I'd probably marry you again.

Me: You are such a romantic.

What's a logo

Friday, February 26, 2016
The other day, my daughter asked me about the little crocodile on the towel in her bathroom. You know: the Lacoste or Izod logo.

Then she asked me what a logo was. Believe it or not, it's difficult to explain what a logo is to a 3.5 year old. Especially when you factor in the subsequent why's that come with the initial answers. Then I realized, most people probably don't know either. This great video by Vox featuring one of my favorite designers, Michael Beirut, sums up pretty well what makes a logo great.

While this winter has been pretty forgiving, it’s been too cold to spend much time outside. Last Sunday saw temperatures in the 60s so we took advantage of a chance to go to the playground.

Andy and The Biscuit review which chess pieces go where on the board.

And then it was time for some rock hopping.

Get over yourself

While I try to figure out what my next move will be, I've been doing lots of networking. It's a great way to make interesting connections and build relationships with new people.

At a recent event, I met a guy who seemed intent on "teaching" me something. He gave me lots of mandates about what I should or shouldn't be doing with my job search or my blog or whether I should write a book. I'm sure he meant well but the whole thing was extremely off-putting.

Spot the brown person

Wednesday, February 17, 2016
I've been searching for a new job that is a good cultural fit for me after 10+ years of being an entrepreneur. This photo came in my email today from a company hiring in NYC. I took one look at the team and said NOPE! out loud.

Not just because there's only one brown person in the photo. It's larger than that and the issue makes me sad.

Tiny dancer

The Biscuit loves to dance. Any time there is live music, she just starts spontaneously moving her body. It’s not elegant but it’s adorable.

Now that she’s taking a hip-hop dance class, I kinda hope she’s a sassy badass like this little girl.

Life lessons

Me: what did you do at hip-hop class tonight?
P: (matter-of-factly) I learned how to make it rain.
Me, trying not to laugh: Oh!

I imagine her and classmates like this.
